New look KiwiHyde website

Well my new look KiwiHyde website is starting to take shape.

After doing a bit of research, I decided to go with a newish type of website that is a fancy sort of weblog. This seems to be more in keeping with the style of websites these days.

My website is powered by an OpenSource application called WordPress. The underlying platform is a database which is taking me a little bit to get my head around. I’m having to dig up a few of my IT skills from my Christchurch Polytechnic days.

A big feature of this type of website is the ability to be able to choose a theme that suits the ‘look & feel’ that the website author is looking for. The theme that I have chosen is called The Morning After and has a newspaper type of layout that I think looks pretty neat.

I will be making a start on putting up an explanatory post for each category before starting work on some in-depth posts.
In between that I will keep my ‘day-to-day’ category alive with general posts about what’s happening in my life.
